If a section goes dark in December, we come out and fix it at no charge. In January we take everything down, and if you want, we label and store it so next season starts with one phone call.

The lights matter as much as the labor. Retail strings use thin two-wire cord and press-fit sockets that let water in, which is why they quit in the middle of December. The bulk C9 cord we run is heavier, the sockets are spaced for a roofline, and each LED bulb screws in on its own, so one bad bulb never takes out the run. Because the cord is cut to length on site, there are no coiled leftovers hanging behind a downspout and no extension runs draped across the lawn. Measured, then designed
Roofline footage comes from your photos or a quick visit, counted along every gutter edge, gable, and peak that will carry light. We note the story count, where the roof can be reached from, and each tree and shrub by size. That measurement becomes the itemized quote, and the number holds once you approve it.
Roof-safe clips, insured crew
C9 cord rides in all-in-one clips that hook the shingle edge or the gutter lip and come off clean in January. No staples, no screws, nothing punched into fascia. Crews are fully insured for ladder and roof work, and the same crew that does a one-story ranch handles a three-story foyer peak, with the ladders set differently.
Timers set before we leave
Every display plugs into an outdoor timer set to come on at dusk and shut off at the hour you choose, tested on the spot. You never touch a switch or walk out in the cold to unplug anything. If you want the lights on later for a party, tell the crew and they set it.
Service, takedown, and storage included
A dark section in December is a phone call, not an invoice: in-season service calls are at no charge, and the crew carries spare bulbs and cord. January takedown is part of every package. Labeled storage is optional, so the front roofline run comes back next fall already tagged.
How an install day goes
The crew arrives with the design and the measured footage, walks the front of the house with you if you are home, and confirms which lines get light: gutter edges only, or gutters plus the peaks and dormers. Then the cord comes off the spool. Bulk C9 cord is cut to each run on the tailgate, fitted with plugs, and screwed full of LED bulbs before it ever goes up a ladder, so the run that lands on your gutter is the exact length of your gutter.
Ladders go up next. One-story rooflines are reached from the lawn on extension ladders. Two-story eaves and foyer peaks take taller ladders set on levelers, and steep pitches are worked from the ladder rather than the shingles wherever the roof allows it. A clip goes on every socket along the gutter edge and every socket on the peaks, where wind loads are higher, so the line stays straight through a January storm.
Power comes off the nearest exterior outlet, with the run tucked along a downspout rather than across a walkway. Outdoor outlets should be GFCI protected; if yours is not, we tell you before install day so an electrician can swap it. The timer goes on last. Then the whole display is switched on, walked from the street, and adjusted before the truck leaves.
Rooflines, peaks, and what changes the look
The simplest design is a single run of C9s along the gutter edge, which outlines the shape of the house from the street and is where most first-year customers start. Adding the peaks, gables, and dormers roughly doubles the footage on a typical two-story and makes the roofline read as a full silhouette rather than a baseline. Wrapped porch columns, a lit path to the door on ground stakes, and wreaths at the windows sit on top of either.
Color decides the rest. Warm white C9s read as classic and pair with brick and stone. Cool white reads brighter and cleaner on newer homes with white trim. Multicolor is the one the kids vote for. Mixing is common: warm white on the roofline with red and green minis on the shrubs, for instance. The lights we supply, and why not retail strings
Everything we hang is commercial-grade LED. The C9 bulbs are individually replaceable and draw a small fraction of the power an incandescent C9 pulls, which is why a full roofline plus wrapped trees can run off one or two circuits without tripping a breaker. The bulk cord is rated for outdoor use, custom-cut to your house, and it never gets stapled, so the same runs come back down in January undamaged.
Retail strings from a big-box store are built to a price. The cord is thin, the sockets are molded shut so one failure darkens the whole strand, and the plastic goes brittle in the cold. Plenty of homeowners hang them anyway, and every December we get calls about strands that quit the week before a party.
